STEVE IVASKA
Steve Ivaska is a Certified Executive and Leadership Development Coach who is perpetually motivated by questions such as “How do we improve? How do we go to the next level? What is it in life that really matters?”
Asking those kinds of questions led him to a 35-year executive career with Caterpillar Inc. But it was the derailment of a personal goal he’d set for himself, and the questions that came from it, that motivated Steve to start his own company, Positive Impact Leadership.
In 2009, Steve set a goal to run 1,100 miles, but sixteen miles shy of that goal, he slipped on a sheet of ice on a wintery morning and during his recovery asked himself two questions that changed the trajectory of his life, “How much time do I have left in life?” and, “What am I going to do with it?”
After considerable reflection and prayer, Steve left the corporate world and joined the Halftime Institute’s faculty as an executive coach. Then he founded his current company, Positive Impact Leadership which focuses on training and coaching leaders who are hungry to grow and want to have a significant impact on those around them.
Steve has been married 47 years to his high school sweetheart, Pat, and they have four children and twelve incredibly talented grandkids. (Yes, he’s quite biased.) They live in Peoria Illinois, and relish time with family and friends, as well as camping, hiking, and kayaking.
